so i finally read tony's life story and this one point really hit me where he was talking about his son's.

on page 7 he say's "because they made the truth their own, they make susan and me look good.

I know what you are saying OTWO. Just reading that story makes my blood boil, What he says is just so stupid. Like the guy who studied with him was "Brother Gardner but he affectionately called him Jim". Why isn't that just precious. Tony calls him Jim. It brought tears to my eyes to read that. But wait isn't Jim short for James and don't most of the people named James go by the nickname Jim. Silly me to ask such stupid questions.

Or like where he says he was homeless for "a few days" another total tear jerkier of a story. Well "Jim" found out and got Tony in touch with 'a sister who owned a boarding house. Tony really believes that Jehovah used Jim and that dear sister to provide a nice place for him to stay.' Isn't that so sweet. Tony says that 'Jehovah takes care of his faithful worshipers.'

It just brought such tears to my eyes to read that. It was just like when I prayed my brains out for Jehovah to help me and I got NOTHING! Like the time I moved out of my abusive parents home and there was a sister who lived across the street from me but she refused to take me to the meetings because I did not have enough money to give her for gas. I was just 18 years old at the time and dirt poor she was in her 50's. I walked five miles one way while she drove her empty car to the hall, and at the time in the city I lived in there was a rapist that the police had not caught raping young women my age and the police were begging young women to not go out at night alone. Oh well I guess Jehovah did not let me get raped so that was how He cared for me.

There were so many, many, many times I begged Jehovah for help and NOTHING. Like the time the guy in the hall threatened to kill my husband and I and I begged to go to the police but Bethel said NO! We were not to bring Jehovah's name into it and going to the police would so NO police period. Or the time we were robbed at gun point while at Bethel and we asked if we could switch halls as I was so freaked out. Again Bethel said NO!

I guess I just don't have the in with Jehovah that Tony does.

So I finally read Tony's life story and this one point really hit me where he was talking about his son's. On page 7 he say's "because they made the truth their own, they make Susan and me look good." Really! So those who children leave the "truth" look bad?

This does not even begin to touch on the fact that HE HAD KIDS! Especially so close to 1975. I was told that I SHOULD NEVER HAVE KIDS in this worldly system, Woe the pregnant women and yad, yad, yad. I was only about 12 years old in 1975 but I clearly remember the warning about not having kids. So Tony disobeyed and had children when so many obeyed and did not have kids when they really wanted to but now Tony gets to look good?

It really is like a gut punch to read that. I wanted kids like crazy but I was told that I could have them in the new system, I needed to obey. But all that really matters is Tony looks good.

Flipper I hope you took that the right way. I think what you did was great. I just get so worked up over this subject and what I have went through that I would have had such a hard time when the husband called you a apostate. The stupid little man.

I really do admire you for having the courage to dot that. You are much to be commended and I hope you made them think.

Hi Flipper way to go. The part you wrote here though just made my blood boil. She continued, " In fact I know of one JW child molester who served time in prison and got reinstated and the elders make him listen on the telephone to the meetings. He's not allowed to even come to the Kingdom Hall ! "

OH MY WORD it must be nice to live in her stupid little bubble of naivety. I was threatened with being DF'ed because I told a mom in my hall about one of the child molesters. I was told by the CO that I just needed to get a handle on my emotions and just buck it up because being my husband was an elder I had no chose but to take a registered sex offender door to door in my car. This man was on the internet and had his case profiled at the local cop shop where it clearly said he raped an 7 year old little girl and had pimped out females and had served 8 years in prison for it.

The serving eight years in prison was what the CO was hung up on. He did his time so he was good to go and I had the problem with not expecting him. NO ONE IN THE HALL WAS TO KNOW OF HIS PAST!!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!! I even went above the CO and went to the DO and the DO totally backed up the CO telling me DO NOT TELL ANYONE. So how I would love to know does this idiot sister you talked to know about this guys past?

I am sorry I am just getting myself really worked up here. Oh my word when you have seen and been through what I have I would have had such a hard time keep my cool talking to them, I really applaud you for being able to do that. I watched one pedophile take and hold children at the KH in front of the elders all with their approval. This guy even held a sleep over for little boys in the hall. I guess serving eight years in prison for raping a little girl NOT BOY gave he the right to do that??????? Really? This man did not have any kids living at home so why in the world would elders give their blessings to a 50 something man having a sleep over. While my elders did. Oh and they are the same elders who OK'ed another pedophile to host a baby shower. A BABY SHOWER mind you. YES you read that right and there were elders there one had two little kids, I went to get pictures and one this elder sat right there watching a pedophile interact with children right in front of him. Unbelievable.

Anyway I am so worked up now it would really be nice to live in talkative sister's little bubble but I unfortunately live in the real world.

Looking for examples of Witnesses physically harmed during field service

The problem you are going to have is that Bethel or the powers to be do not want you to go to the police.

I have had guns pointed at me, one time this guy shot the gun over our heads and told us the next time he would put it in us. I begged to put him down as a do not call but was told by the others in the car group that we never know who else might be interested that lived in his home so he was never put down as a do not call.

I have been bitten 7 times by dogs, chased to the car by German Shepherds, had pit bulls sicked on me. When I was first married one of the MS's in the hall went mental and threatened to kill all of his co-workers he was fired from his job over this matter so he then decided to threaten my husband who happened to be the only elder in the hall at the time. I wanted to go to the police but my husband insisted that we call Bethel first. They told us that no matter what we did DO NOT GO TO THE POLICE as they did not want Jehovah's name brought into the matter.

We were robbed at gun point when we were at Bethel while out in service, no one told us that the part of NY we were in was not safe for us as we had been assigned to work that part of the territory but Bethel told us it was our fault. When we asked if we could move to a different hall we were told NO! There was a shooting right out front the KH's door about a month after we were robbed but we still had to stay in that hall.

When I was in my late teens and early 20's I was repeatedly assigned to work with another young sister in gang infested parts of town I lived in alone. One time when I was in my early 20's I was working with an older sister who was in her late 70's and we called on this creepy house with about 3 men in their mid 20's. They invited us in and the older sister jumped at the chance. I was scared out of my mind. One of the guys blocked the door so we could not leave but this older sister did not get it and kept talking and talking and talking, I thought for sure we were dead. We were there for about an hour and finally someone for our car group figured out what house we were in and came and knocked on the door, As soon as the door opened I moved toward it and the guys looked upset but we got out. They were totally not interested in the least and the only one who did any talking was the older sister but she never got the fact that they were not interested and gushed over how wonderful the call was.

I was bitten by a Chihuahua once and the stupid bite bleed and bleed the guy had been rude to us told us to leave his fenced yard the dog slipped out as he was shutting the door and bite me the man came running out afraid we would sue him and turned really nice so my husband talked to him for over an hour about the "Truth" while I sat there bleeding and then my husband told me he felt that Jehovah had allowed me to get bit so that the guy would listen. In all fairness it was a small bit but still I thought my husband's reasoning was crazy.

I heard of a sister in her early 20's who would have been a little bit older than I was at the time and who lived in the middle of the state I live in. I heard she was murdered because she went to this call that she had had for awhile on her way to meet for service at the KH. The householder raped and than killed her but I was told it was her fault because she went alone when I tried to press for more details I as shut down and I and could never verify it.

When I first moved out of my abusive parents home I was just 18 years old there was an older sister who lived across the street from me. I did't have a car so I used to ride to meetings with her. At the time in the city I lived in there was a rapist running loose who was praying on young girls my age. This older sister got mad at me one night because I did not give her money for gas. So I walked the five miles one way to the meeting at night while she drove alone in her empty car to the hall. As soon as I could I saved up enough money to buy a beater car. It just really hurt my feelings and still does to this day that she did that and all the elders knew,none of the elders one offered me any help.

But like I said non of this is verifiable because the GB and their attorney's do not want anything to be public. Even calling an ambulance tot he KH is frowned upon. Like when my husband had his heart attack at the KH I was allowed to drive him alone to the hospital.

It is just a crazy sick religion or I should say cult.

I thought it was great also. How can anyone refute it is beyond me. I love how the wife hung herself and how the reporter said that about sums it up when she said "he did his time." It so reminds me of the wife's of the pedophiles in the hall I attended. One stood by her husband even though her 7 year old daughter said he had touched her and the elders supported him of course.

So from what I understand is that the show will air tomorrow night Thursday the 12th or early Friday morning the 13th depending on what time zone you are in. I hope that is right. Still looking forward to watching it and thank you Barbara for keep us up to date on this.

Who leaves first, the husband or wife?

when it comes to a simple matter of no longer believing the teachings of jw's, it appears to me that it's more common for the husband to make the first move to leave the religion.

I left and my husband is still in. It is all so clear to me that it is a cult. I was a born in my husband is a convert. To me it is just amazing that he can still believe with everything that he as seen and that has happened to us. I also know that the religion is more deeper ingrained in me than him also as it was all I have ever known. He was in the world and has more education, etc.

I just do not get it. I do not feel it is a man versus women way of thinking. I think it is just using your brain period. JW's don't. If they did they would see it is a cult, but they will not think that is the whole problem. They let others think for them.
